Arthur
The highest yielding variety on the NIAB 2008 recommended list, ARTHUR has performed exceptionally well in official and private trials from 2001 to 2007, producing yields which have been consistently over that of Clipper and Target. ARTHUR is suited to a wide range of soil types and has shown particularly good results on medium to heavy type situations. If Wizard does not suit your situation and or you are looking for a replacement Clipper/Target type variety with shorter straw then ARTHUR is a good candidate variety. ARTHUR has been the most consistent variety in yield performance in years of extreme of either very hot or very wet weather, a key attribute where growers are looking for a reliable variety year on year.
